On Sunday, May 6th, Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies Liljenberg and Trautman responded to a burglary in progress near the 7800 block of North Hughes Drive in unincorporated Spokane County. Deputies arrived on scene and collected information from neighbors
who saw two male subjects leaving the area in a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta.
A short time later Deputies Trautman, Liljenberg, Bond and Reed located the Jetta at a pawn store on North Division. Deputies stopped the vehicle that was occupied by a male, identified as 40 year-old Pete Huckaby, and a female, identified as 39 year-old Chelsey
Loe. Both subjects had attempted to sell items taken from the burglary on Hughes Drive at the pawn store. Loe and Huckaby led deputies to an address near the area of 50 East Crown where 32 year-old Joshua Epperson was located and detained for his role in the
burglary on Hughes Drive. Epperson is a well know local criminal suspect listed as a repeat offender.
At the request of the patrol division, members of the Sheriff's Office Burglary Task Force and Major Crimes responded to assist with the investigation. A search warrant was obtained for the Crown address where several thousand dollars in stolen property from
the Hughes Drive was recovered and returned to the homeowner. Additional property was recovered at the residence that is suspected to be from additional burglaries.
• Huckaby was booked into the Spokane County jail on the charges of Residential Burglary and Trafficking in Stolen Property 1st Degree.
• Epperson was booked into jail on the charges of Residential Burglary and Escape 2nd Degree.
• Loe was booked into jail on the charge of Trafficking in Stolen Property 2nd Degree.
