Members of the Spokane County Sheriff's Office Burglary Task Force contacted two suspects during a traffic stop near the area of Mission and Pettet Drive after developing information they may have been attempting to sell stolen property.
Investigation at the scene by task force members led to the recovery of nearly $15,000 in stolen jewelry. 32 year-ol...d John Beck was arrested at the scene for Trafficking in Stolen Property. Additionally, 20 year-old Briahna Lane was arrested at the scene
by SPD detectives for an unrelated property crime.
A search of Beck's residence resulted in the task force locating marijuana packaged for sale. Specifically, individually packaged baggies of marijuana, packaging material, scales, $1,600.00 in U.S. currency and a 9mm handgun were seized during the search. Beck
was subsequently charged and booked into the Spokane County Jail on the charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent To Deliver, Possession of Stolen Property 1st Degree and Trafficking in Stolen Property 1st Degree.
The stolen jewelry was returned to the owner who was extremely appreciative. Not only did the jewelry have a high monetary value, the items were family heirlooms that could not be replaced.
