Today, April 17th, Spokane County Sheriff's Office Emergency Operations Team was participating in scheduled training on the Spokane River near Seven Mile. At about 12:30 p.m., one of the team members saw a green canoe, about 4' under water, up against
one of the pilings under the Seven Mile bridge.
Due to the fast moving water, the EOT had to use their jet boat in order to free the canoe from the pillar. Team members located a camouflage backpack that was tied to the inside of the canoe. Missing airman Ramse-Lassiter's name was embroidered on the front
of the backpack. There was a coat liner, poncho, flashlight, keys and an axe inside the backpack. The Spokane County Sheriff's Office Emergency Operations Team will continue periodic searches for Ramse-Lassiter on the Spokane River and Long Lake.
