On February 13, 2013, Spokane Valley Sheriff's Deputy Scot Nelson responded to a vandalism call at a vacant residence near the 1300 block of North Ella Road.
Deputy Nelson contacted the homeowner who told him he was selling the home and last showed it on February 1st. It was fine at that time. On February 8th he was notified by animal control that there was a cat locked in the house. When he arrived he saw the back
door had been kicked in. Water had been left on in the bathtub and the faucet in the kitchen sink had been broken off. The homeowner estimated water damage to the residence at approximately $6,500. There are no suspects at this time.
