On Saturday night, February 2, 2013, at 9:00 p.m., Spokane Valley Sheriff's Deputy L. Petersen responded to Hooters, located at 16208 E. Indiana, on a stabbing call.
Deputy Petersen contacted the adult male victim inside the casino. The victim told Deputy Petersen he saw an old acquaintance at the casino. The victim said his old friend asked him to go outside, which the victim thought was to work out issues from their past.
The victim told Deputy Petersen the suspect pulled a folding knife out of his front pocket and stood in a threatening manner. Thinking the suspect was going to stab him, the victim struck the suspect in the face one time. The suspect attacked the victim and
stabbed him at least four times before the victim could get away.
Deputies were able to view surveillance of the incident and the events the victim described were verified. The victim's injuries were non-life threatening and deputies have suspect information. The investigation is ongoing.
