Spokane Valley Police Department and the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office would like the public to know about a suspicious person who followed a Greenacres Middle School student home from the area of 8th and Hodges yesterday afternoon.
The mother of the 14-year-old student who called and reported this incident earlier today stated on Wednesday January 23rd at approximately 3:00-3:15 p.m., her daughter was walking home from the bus stop and noticed a vehicle in the area of 8th and Hodges that
appeared to be following her.
The dark-haired male driver adjusted his vehicle’s speed to match hers as she continued walking the rest of the way home. When she arrived at her residence, the male did not drive off until she went inside and closed the door.
The driver did not try and contact the female at any time and it is unknown why he was acting in the manner but this incident is very suspicious. The vehicle was described as a silver, 4-door, newer Honda type vehicle.
The Central Valley School District was also notified by the student’s mother and they sent out an advisory letter today informing the parents of students who attend Greenacres Elementary, Greenacres Middle School and the Central Valley Kindergarten.
Please take a moment to remind your children about strangers and to be aware of suspicious people or vehicles.
If anyone has information about this incident you are asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
