On Sunday, January 13, 2013, Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies responded to Lake City Assembly Church in Medical Lake on a vandalism call. Deputies R. Miller and G. Lance arrived on scene and were overwhelmed by the amount of damage done to the church.
The church pastor told deputies that sometime between 9:00 p.m. Saturday night, January 12th and 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning was when the vandalism took place. Initial damage estimates were over $50,000.
Deputies walked through the church and found at least twelve classrooms broken into. Damage consisted of, but was not limited to, the suspect(s) spraying fire extinguishers inside the church, pouring soda onto piano keys, shattering several glass windows, stealing
electronic equipment, damaging stereo equipment and writing several extremely inappropriate statements on the walls.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this vandalism investigation. Persons with information should call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-222-TIPS, or should forward the tip via the Internet website www.crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org.
Tipsters do not have to give their name to collect the cash reward.
