On Thursday morning, December 20, 2012, at 1:15 a.m., 911 received a call from an employee at Zip Trip, located at 711 W. Hastings, who said he had just been robbed by a male with a gun. The employee said the male suspect was in his late twenties to early thirties, approximately six-feet tall, athletic build with blondish red facial hair. The employee said the suspect was wearing a dark colored beanie, bright red sweatshirt and black gloves.

The suspect demanded money from the employee, lifted up his shirt and displayed the rounded butt of a handgun. The suspect fled the store and ran southbound between the store and a neighboring yoga studio. Two citizens pulling into the store witnessed the suspect run from the store as they pulled into the parking lot.

Spokane Police Department assisted in the search with a K9 unit and located a sweatshirt the suspect was possibly wearing near the store. It appeared the suspect drove away. A surveillance photo of the suspect is attached.
