The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office & Spokane Valley Police Department participated in the Holidays and Heroes program last Sunday December 16th. We were able to help 31 families this year in Spokane County and plus we had an incredible time. Each family
received gifts and a large food basket with all the makings for a wonderful Christmas dinner. The families were selected through the school districts we work with and the deputies volunteered their time. After shopping at the Wal-Mart on Broadway in the Spokane
Valley, we met with our North Idaho law enforcement and emergency service personnel out at the Greyhound Park to wrap presents, visit with Santa, check out Air 1 and enjoy some lunch. This program would not be successful if it weren’t for our generous sponsors
and volunteers.
To our Spokane County Sponsors, we give a big “Thank You”: Wal-Mart, the Spokane County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, Spokane Federal Credit Union, Barney’s Harvest Foods, American West Bank, General Mills, Horizon Credit Union and to Clear Channel (98.1 Kiss)
for joining us for a live broadcast.
Also, thank you to our Explorers, who gave their time to partner with Barney’s Harvest Foods in the Spokane Valley for a food and funds drive, helped set up for the event and helped shop with the deputies. You all did a GREAT job.
