Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Reserve Deputy Rees was sworn-in on Monday November 19th by Sheriff Knezovich. His wife Lisa attended the ceremony in support. We are honored to have Deputy Rees volunteer his time to serve his community and help the Sheriff’s
Office. He has spent his life honorably serving his county and community and he and his family are a great addition to SCSO!!
Robert E. Rees was born in Gary, Indiana in 1971 and graduated from Crown Point High School in 1989. He immediately left for military training at Fort Benning, Georgia and graduated the Infantry School in September of 1989 and served as an Infantryman until
He was selected to attend the Warrant Officer Academy and US Army Flight Training and graduated as a Warrant Officer and Pilot of the UH-60 Blackhawk in June of 1999.
In 2006, He left active duty service after three combat tours in Iraq spanning from Operation Desert Storm in 1990 to Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005.
Deputy Rees returned to his hometown and was hired by the Merrillville Police Department as a Patrolman in July 2006 and served in that capacity until 2011. His police credentials include: Academy Certified Instructor, Field Training Officer, Harley-Davidson
Motor Officer, ATV Motor Officer and Crime Scene Evidence Technician.
He left police service to pursue a career as a Training Instructor for the United States Air Force, Fairchild Air Force Base, in October of 2011.
Robert is married to wife Lisa, also of Northwest Indiana and their son Robert Rees Jr. currently is stationed at Fort Irwin, California as a soldier in the United States Army.
