Stolen Guns Located During Search Warrants

Posted 10/4/2012 10:48 AM by KWESTBERG

On Saturday, September 29, 2012, Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 1100 block of North Wilcox Street in Medical Lake on a residential burglary call. Deputy D. Bratton contacted the homeowner who told him that sometime between noon and 7:00 p.m., 20 plus firearms were taken from his residence. At the time, the homeowner had no suspect information.

On Wednesday, October 3, 2012, Detective B. Sola had an anonymous adult male contact him at the Medical Lake Precinct. The individual told Detective Sola he had information that a juvenile female was trying to sell firearms to juvenile kids in Medical Lake.

The Spokane County Sheriff's Office Investigative Task Force (ITF) and Investigative Support Unit (ISU) detectives took over the investigation. After further investigation throughout the day, detectives developed information that the homeowner's juvenile female daughter and 20-year-old Cody Wolfley took the guns from the residence.

Investigators developed information that the juvenile female was promised a vehicle if she provided weapons to 21-year-old Bradley Kelly. Detectives followed Kelly from Medical Lake late Wednesday afternoon, stopped his vehicle and took him in custody for multiple counts of Possession of Stolen Property. The truck was seized pending a search warrant for the vehicle.

The Spokane County SWAT Team served multiple warrants Wednesday evening at residences near the 1000 block of East Ladd Road, the 300 block of East Fellows Road and the 1000 block of North Dover Road.

On Thursday, October 4th, detectives served a search warrant on Kelly’s truck and located a loaded AK-47 from underneath the truck frame and a Keltec firearm in the rear toolbox, both stolen from the September 29th burglary. Detectives anticipate additional arrests and search warrants as the investigation continues.
