Traffic Emphasis On Fairwood Drive

Posted 8/30/2012 4:13 PM by KWESTBERG

Spokane County Sheriff's Deputies are providing extra patrols on Fairwood Drive, between Waikiki and Mill Road, through Friday, September 7, 2012. Due to road construction in the area, traffic has been re-routed onto Fairwood Drive, which is a residential area.

Due to the overwhelming number of concerns and complaints from residents on Fairwood Drive, the Sheriff's Office has been requested by Spokane County Traffic Engineers to work extra patrols in the morning and evening commute hours. Deputies are strictly enforcing the 25 mph residential speed limit as well as all other rules of the road violations. This emphasis is directly focused at ensuring the safety of the residents on and around Fairwood Drive which means zero tolerance for speeding, talking on cell phones, failing to stop at stop signs, etc
