So…..You Want to Volunteer
At SCRAPS, we love our volunteers!
Our volunteer program supports every aspect of our work from walking dogs and socializing cats to educational outreach and special events. As a volunteer, you will work with staff and other volunteers who share your interests. You don’t have to be experienced; all you need is to love and respect animals and be able to make a time commitment that fits best into your schedule.
Here's how to get started:
Attend a Volunteer Orientation held at SCRAPS, and learn about what we do, our mission, our public services, and volunteer opportunities. Everyone is welcome to join us at this meeting, you do not need to pre-register. Learn how volunteers work to enhance the animals’ stay here as well as find them new homes. To volunteer at here at SCRAPS you must be 16 or older
Younger than 16? Need community service hours for school? Click here. Volunteers younger than 16 can help the animals in a variety of ways such as food or donation drives, garage sales, car washes, making special treats - let your imagination be your guide!
- Register on line here: Volunteer Registration Form
- After your registration form is received, you'll be invited to attend the next Volunteer Orientation.
Volunteer Orientation schedule for 2013:
Saturday November 9th at our current site at 2521 N. Flora
Note: All meetings are held 10 - 11:30 am .
Time is spent with each new valued volunteer to make sure they are getting the most out of their volunteer experience and are signing up for volunteer jobs that are of value to the organization and to the animals. This process helps to maintain the quality of our volunteer program!
At SCRAPS, staff and volunteers work together to care for the animals and enrich their time here at the shelter. There are many ways volunteers make things better for the animals. Click here
to see some of the many volunteer positions at SCRAPS. Not all jobs are open at all times; open positions will be posted at the Volunteer Orientation.
