Spokane County's Parks System is current affected by two levels of burn bans:
- On lands protected by the Washington Department of Natural Resources (DNR), which includes the County’s Liberty Lake Regional Park, a burn ban is in effect which prohibits all outdoor fires with the exception of liquid gas and propane stoves that do not use solid briquettes, camp stoves and lanterns with attached pressurized gas canisters, and solid fuel and citronella candles in metal or glass containers. Absolutely no open fires are allowed in Liberty Lake Regional Park, including the campground, except those specifically permitted by DNR. Click here for DNR’s burn ban information
- All other areas in Spokane County are affected by a limited burn ban which prohibits unauthorized open burning and unauthorized recreational fires with the exception of manufactured portable outdoor fireplaces, barbecues and outdoor fireplaces used in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Except in Liberty Lake Regional Park, the use of propane, natural gas, charcoal, and clean natural firewood burning appliances is allowed. Click here for Spokane County’s burn ban information
NOTE: Citizens should remember that absolutely no fires whatsoever are permitted in any of Spokane County’s Conservation Futures Properties. Click here for information about the County’s Conservation Futures Areas.
