Trolley Trail Conservation Area

Description

This 12.34 acre property is just over one linear mile by one hundred feet of hard-packed trail that was the Washington Water Power/Medical Lake Railroad bed.  It includes wooded areas and is adjacent to a 200+ acre wooded tract of state land.  The trail, along with future donations, will eventually link with the Fish Lake Trail and the Centennial Trail.

Permitted Uses

  • Hiking
  • Any lawful uses of Spokane City Parks

Rules

  • Dogs can be disruptive to wildlife and must be kept on a leash at all times while in the conservation area.
  • Motorized vehicles are not permitted in the conservation area.
  • Hunting and/or shooting are not permitted at any time in the conservation area.
  • No campfires are permitted in the conservation area. 

Location 

From I-90:
  • Exit at Geiger Field/S. Grove Rd, #276
  • Drive southeast on S. Grove Rd. for approximately 0.5 miles to a stop sign  
  • Turn left (east) on W. Thorpe Rd. for approximately 1.1 miles to a 4-way stop sign
  • Turn left (north) on S. Assembly Rd. for approximately 0.3 miles
  • Trolley Trail is on the east side of S. Assembly Road 
  • There is a dirt turnout on the eastern edge of the road; this is the start of the trail
