Latah Creek Conservation Area
Description
This property, 35 acres bordering on Spokane's Hangman Park and Qualchan Golf Course, overlooks US Highway 195 from the east. Protecting the Latah Creek floodplain and providing a buffer for the steep, barren hillside off High Drive, the property is difficult to access via car.
Due to the highly erodible features along parts of this property, the area is best used for foot activities and wildlife migrations. Hiking is recommended for extreme use as the slopes of the hillside can be treacherous.

- Any lawful use of Spokane City Parks
Rules
- Dogs can be disruptive to wildlife and must be kept on a leash at all times while in the conservation area.
- Motorized vehicles are not permitted in the conservation area.
- Hunting and/or shooting are not permitted at any time in the conservation area.
- No campfires are permitted in the conservation area.
Location
From I-90:
- Exit at US 195 South toward Pullman/Colfax, exit #279
- Drive approximately 3 miles, passing Cheney-Spokane Road
- From Qualchan Drive, the property is located east across US 195
- There is no vehicular access to the property; parking is not permitted along US 195
- Hiking access enters from the east, along High Dr. at W. 40th
Note: There is NO parking available from US 195.
To reach High Drive from I-90:
- Exit at Maple Street, exit #280
- Drive south, staying on Maple as it turns to Cedar
- This road eventually turns into High Drive
