Fair Ambassadors

The Interstate Fair selected four young adults to serve as the 2013 Fair Ambassadors. Selected were Julia Jean “JJ” Brown (Gonzaga Prep HS), Connlee Gray (Medical Lake HS), Tyler Ribail (Central Valley HS), and Kathleen Sessions (Gonzaga Prep HS). The Ambassador's Award, given to any one, any exhibit, or any booth was awarded to the Garlic Gourmay Booth.

Special Award Winners

Each year the Fair gives five outstanding achievement awards to exhibitors at the Spokane County Interstate Fair for their efforts. This year's Red, White and Blue Award winners were

  • Izzy’s BBQ (Food Booth)
  • 3 Barrels Up (Inside Commercial Booth)
  • Chase Honey Farm (Outside Commercial)

Best Fair Food Awards

A program started in 2011 has three to five culinary judges from the Inland Northwest present on the first Saturday of the Fair with the task of selecting the best fair food.  The 2013 winners were

  • Glazed and Confused for their Manager’s Special Donuts (Best Deep Fried)
  • Huckleberry Thicket for their Huckleberry Cheesecake (Best Dessert)
  • Island Noodles for their Island Slaw (Most Creative)
  • SandwicHaven for their Steakhouse Sandwich (Best Signature Item)
