Report on the Spokane County 2006 - 2011 Developmental Disabilities Plan Focus Groups
Recently many people generously gave
of their time to share their thoughts on supports and services available in the
county to people with developmental disabilities and their families. Following
is the entire content of the report submitted to us by the facilitators Joyce
and David Black. Joyce and David will present their report to the Developmental
Disabilities Advisory Board on Tuesday, June 6th at 4: p.m.. You are welcome
and encouraged to come and hear that presentation. The information in the
report will be used to develop the goals for our 2006 -2011 five year plan
which will be completed in the next several months. The purpose of the plan is
to direct our work as we seek to accomplish our mission: "To Support Each

The Spokane County
Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board is comprised of nine community members
who provide information and advice to the Community Services staff and the Board
of County Commissioners. Issues addressed relate to early intervention
services, employment services, and building a supportive community. Each of
these issues is important as it supports people with developmental disabilities
and their families to have a full and participating life in Spokane County.
