Continuum of Care Program
Spokane County's Continuum of Care is responsible for providing consistency and structure to the planning of homelessness assistance as well as homelessness prevention activities. This process is overseen by an advisory group that provides the tools and oversight for planning, and is also responsible for identifying priorities and implementing the vision reflected within the Continuum of Care. Participants meet anywhere from monthly to weekly depending on the time of year and the needs of the other planning partners. The group is responsible for:
- Overseeing the Spokane County homelessness planning process
• Providing representation to each of the other planning partner groups
- Coordinating planning efforts among the distinct geographic communities of the County into a single Continuum of Care for the entire balance of County area
- Providing technical assistance in homelessness program development
- Coordinating information gathered from all the planning partners to develop and publish the Spokane County Continuum of Care Plan and its annual updates
- Monitoring the progress and evaluating the success of tasks associated with the Continuum of Care Eighteen Month Action Plan
- Collecting and providing homelessness data to the public as requested
Currently the Spokane County continuum is partnering with the City of Spokane on a Ten Year Plan to Reduce Homelessness. Please contact our office at: (509) 477-2588 or (509) 477-2521. If you are interested in participating or have any questions on the process.
