The City of Spokane Valley is located on the eastern border of Washington. 
The City was newly incorporated March 31, 2003.  With a population of 88,280,
Spokane Valley is the 9th largest City in Washington State.  The incorporation of
Spokane Valley was the largest in the State and the 2nd largest single incorporation
in U.S. history.  It encompasses approximately 38.5 square miles of land area.

The City elected to join the Urban County Consortium at the time of their incorporation in 2003.
