Incorporated in 1928 and located 7 miles east of the Spokane City limits.  The Town grew around the Inland Empire Paper Company, which opened in 1911 and is still in operation today, providing newsprint for Spokane's only daily newspaper, the Spokesman Review.   

The Town of Millwood has participated in the Spokane County Urban County Consortium since its inception in 1988, and in that time has successfully completed 7 projects with the help of approximately $375,300 in CDBG funding.
