The Spokane County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program is seeking applications from organizations that are conducting activities and/or undertaking projects that address the 2009 Program’s High Priority Needs for public services, public facilities, infrastructure, economic development and planning actions.

High Priority Needs are contained in the Program Year 2009 Proposal Instructions, Funding Policies and Selection Criteria manual.  The manual contains a list of need categories and activities, goals and objectives, proposal instructions, a timeline for the allocation process, the amount of anticipated funds available, and project selection criteria.

Spokane County’s Housing and Community Development Department provides oversight of the CDBG and HOME Programs. 


T
he Housing and Community Development Department provides the technical support necessary to comply with federal laws and regulations, plans for the implementation of the CDBG and HOME programs, allocate funds, establish goals and objectives, and carries out eligible activities. 

T
he Housing and Community Development Department has developed the Annual Action Plan in partnership with the Housing and Community Development Citizen Advisory Committee, the municipal members of the Urban County Consortium, other county departments, area citizens, not-for-profit organizations, local businesses and others.


T
he Spokane County CDBG and HOME Programs fund eligible activities that address affordable housing, public facility, infrastructure, economic development, public services, and other needs of low-income persons throughout Spokane County.

his could not be done without citizen participation.
