City of Spokane Conservation Areas
The funding for the Conservation Futures Program comes for all property owners living in Spokane County, including both city residents and unincorporated county residents. Since 1994, the Program has acquired 13 open space properties within the City of Spokane, totaling 255 acres. These properties are preserved in perpetuity as open space and may be enjoyed by passive recreation users (hiking, bicycling, etc.) following City Parks regulations. Many of the conservation futures-acquired properties contain hiking trails, views, and a variety of flora and fauna. To explore these properties online, please click on any of the links on the left or visit the City of Spokane Parks Department website.
