Spokane County Superior Court Presiding Judge Sam Cozza is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Julie McKay to the position of Superior Court Commissioner, effective September 2, 2014.
Ms. McKay received her undergraduate degree in Government from Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington, and her Juris Doctorate from Gonzaga University School of Law.
Ms. McKay has extensive family law experience and has served as the City of Cheney Prosecutor since 1991. She is a partner in the law firm of Hatch and McKay, with a practice concentrating on family law and criminal matters. Ms. McKay has also served as a Superior Court Commissioner Pro-Tem and has extensive experience as a pro-tem judge and court commissioner for both Spokane District and Municipal Courts.
“Julie’s experience in family law matters, and her judicial experience as a pro-tem court commissioner will serve Superior Court and its customers very well”, according to Judge Cozza.
Ms. McKay replaces Commissioner Royce Moe, who is retiring from the Court after serving as a Court Commissioner for more than 25 years.
