Spokane County Raceway
The Spokane County Raceway (SCR) facility is located in the City of Airway Heights and boasts a drag-strip, half-mile oval track, and 2.3 mile road course. SCR is gearing up for its fourth full season and we're pleased to announce that local resident and successful businessman Craig Smith has bought out the financial interest in Raceway Investments, LLC, and as such, Smith will take on the direct responsibilities of the general manager and operator for 2012.

About the Operator
Craig Smith started racing with boats (drag hydros) in the early 1980's and quickly graduated to a full-on alcohol dragster. Smith began his racing career in a Chevy-powered dragster before competing in the Top Alcohol Dragster class at both NHRA and AHRA events. In 1987, Smith won the AHRA World Championship at this hometown track in Spokane. He then won the title two more years before moving to the "Kings of the Sport" Top Fuel Dragsters in 2000. Smith captured the drag racing world's attention in 2001 when he went all the way to the final round of the NHRA National Event driving a Top Fuel car sponsored by Pioneer Car Stereo. He ended the season winning the AHRA World Championship for the first time in Top Fuel.
Smith is very focused on working with our local community members and businesses to run a family-friendly operation at the track. "We appreciate our local racers and want to keep them right here by increasing the winner's share of the purse," Smith said.
See you at the races!
