Spokane County Raceway (SCR) is gearing up for its second full season and we're pleased to announce the selection of a new operartor - the partnership of Ron Hodgson and Charlie Allen!
Ron Hodgson is a successful businessman out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada who has been involved in professional racing for over 40 years. He operated Edmonton International Speedway during the 1970's and currently co-owns Castrol Speedway, also in Edmonton. Mr. Hogson's racing career includes multiple NHRA and AHRA National Event wins and was inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2001.
Charlie Allen is also a skilled businessman and race competitor in his own right. He has owned and operated the Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona since 1983. The facility has hosted hundreds of events, including Speed TV's "Pinks All Out," the Lucas Off Road Championship, and the Monster Truck Nationals. Prior to his involvement with Firebird, Mr. Allen operated the famed Orange County International Raceway in Southern California.
Together, these gentlemen bring decades of successful racetrack management and experience to Spokane County Raceway. An additional bonus to this partnership is that SCR will immediately gain support from two of the most successful racetracks in North America.
We are currently negotiating the details of the contract for an initial 10-year term that would net base-rent payments of more than $750,000.00, with 10% of gross revenues over $1.5 million coming to the county annually on top of the base rent; the more successful the operator, the more successful the county will be in this venture - a winning combination for everyone!
We are anxious to get the 2010 season underway, welcoming racers and fans back to the track, where they'll enjoy the full-specturm entertainment experience that this team will bring to Spokane County Racway!
