Winter Safety and Preparedness Information

If you've lived in “snow country," you probably have a good idea of how to get through a typical winter. Nonetheless, injuries and even deaths occur every winter because people fail to prepare and/or take precautions during severe winter weather conditions.

To help minimize risks and mitigate the hazards of winter, Spokane County (in collaboration with the National Weather Service and other state, federal and non-profit agencies) has developed web pages that are filled with winter safety and preparedness information, and also provide links to other agencies and organizations.  We hope you will find it useful.

For snow plow information, visit our Engineering and Roads site.

For information about preparing yourself, your home, and your car for winter weather related emergencies, please view our Winter Weather Safety and Preparedness Tips.

If you have suggestions for improving the site, please email Public Information and Communications Manager Martha Lou Wheatley-Billeter at mwheatleybilleter@spokanecounty.org.
