General Fund Monthly Reports
The Spokane County budget is comprised of many funds. A fund is a self-balancing fiscal and accounting entity, which is segregated for a specific purpose. The General Fund is the largest of Spokane County’s funds. It accounts for all financial resources except those required to be accounted for in a separate fund. The General Fund consists of departments such as the Sheriff, Prosecutor, Auditor, Treasurer, Assessor and Parks. General Fund activities are primarily supported by property tax and retail sales tax. Monthly reports are prepared to give an overview of General Fund activity.
