Boards and Commissions
The Board of County Commissioners appoint members to the following boards and commissions. Each board and commission has a specific purpose and is governed by operating statutes. Serving on a Spokane County board or commission affords citizens the opportunity to participate in the countywide effort to address important issues.

Vacancies
District 1 (must reside in District)
- Joint Planning Commission - looking for one member for four year term, beginning July 11, 2010. Accepting applications until Friday, July 2, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.
Boards & Commissions Vacancies
- Chase Youth Commission - looking for Student terms for one year, beginning July 1 and ending June 30 of the next year and adult terms are three year terms. Accepting applications until Friday, June 18, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.
- Spokane Housing Authority d/b/a Northeast Washington Housing Solutions Board– 1 vacancy; 1 City of Spokane Valley vacancy
- Historic Landmarks Commission - beginning January 2010 will have: 1 joint City/County vacancy in Real Estate Representative
- Housing & Community Development Advisory Committee – 1 vacancy – City of Millwood; 1 vacancy - Town of Spangle
- Solid Waste Advisory Committee – 1 vacancy in Business Position No. 1 and 1 vacancy in Business Position No. 2

For a Spokane County Board/Commission application or for more information on available positions, please contact Ginna Vasquez in the Spokane County Commissioners' office at (509) 477-2265. Persons interested in being considered for appointment should submit their application to the Spokane County Commissioners' Office.
- Requirements - All members must be residents of Spokane County, and if applicable, reside in the area they represent. Members serve without compensation unless otherwise noted.
- Obtain an Application - Applications for appointment to Spokane County boards and commissions are available in the Spokane County Commissioners' Office at the Spokane County Courthouse, 1116 West Broadway Avenue, Spokane Washington, or can be downloaded in pdf format. - Where to Send Application - Applications for vacancies should be faxed, mailed, or delivered to the Board of County Commissioners unless otherwise noted under each vacancy.
