URBAN GROWTH AREA UPDATE
Spokane County is reviewing the County's Urban Growth Area (UGA) to determine the need for accommodating future growth. The UGA establishes boundaries around urban areas that are intended to contain urban growth for a 20 year planning period. Areas outside the UGA are intended to remain rural with low population density and limited governmental services. The review includes analysis of five alternative growth scenarios.
The Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing on the Urban Growth Area Update on Februasry 27, 2013 Subsequent to the public hearing, the Board made approved a revised Urban Growth Area Boundary.
