Notice of Public Hearing - Amendment to Spokane County Critical Areas Ordinance Definition of "Qualified Biologist"
The Spokane County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on June 26, 2014 in the Board of County Commissioner's Hearing Room, Lower Level, Public Works Building, 1026 W Broadway Ave, Spokane, WA. The hearing will begin at 9:00 a.m. or as soon as possible thereafter and concluding with the last speaker or at 4:00 p.m., whichever comes first. If necessary, the hearing may be continued.

The purpose of the public hearing is to consider verbal and written testimony in support of or in opposition to a text amendment to the Spokane County Critical Areas Ordinance definition of "Qualified Biologist", which will be amended, per Settlement Agreement (GMHB Case No. 13-1-0009), to state the following: Qualified Biologist - the holder of a BS or a BA or equivalent degree in biology from an accredited university, and at least two years of field and laboratory experience in evaluation of land use impacts on fish and wildlife species and their habitats, with evidence of peer-reviewed publications or other related professional literature.
