The Spokane County Planning Commission completed its review of the Draft Revised Shoreline Master Program (RSMP) on July 6, 2006 and forwarded its recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners with findings and conclusions. The Board of County Commissioners held a public hearing on the Draft RSMP on July 17, 2007 and deliberated on the public's comments the following October and November and again in April and May of 2008. The Board completed its review of the public's comments and is proposing numerous revisions to the text of the Draft and two changes to the Shoreline Designations Map.
The Department of Ecology proposed several significant changes to the RSMP. Following its review the DOE recommended revisions of the Board will schedule a public hearing on all RSMP revisions to be held later in the fall of 2008. A summary of the Board's proposed revisions to the Draft RSMP will be posted soon on this website. The Draft RSMP and related documents are available for review and/or purchase at the Department of Building and Planning located at 1026 W. Broadway Avenue, Spokane, WA.
