The Law and Justice Process Subcommittee will serve as a temporary (3-9 months) working group and will be responsible for recommending the adoption of procedures (by-laws) by the LJC, on matters/topics including but not limited to:
Authorization for subcommittees to set their own priorities, goals and objectives
Defining how amendments to by-laws will occur
Outlining parliamentary authority
Process for addressing relevant issues before the LJC and defining the course of action
Terms of service for Chair and Co-chair
The LJC Process Subcommittee will also be charged with developing short-term and long-term goals and objectives for the LJC, based on a review of the RCJC Blueprint for Reform, past reports (e.g. Bennett report) and through further discussion. The goals and objectives will be reported back to the LJC Administrative Committee, as well as the broader LJC for approval.
