Subcommittee Description


The facilities subcommittee is charged with reviewing all current facility needs in order to improve the safety, management, and supervision of offenders and staff.

The subcommittee shall:
  • Evaluate expansion vs. new facility options using data already collected by county officials, as well as newly collected data and information available from expert resources such as the National Institute of Corrections.
  • Develop a better understanding of the facility needs of the entire criminal justice system. This will include facility-related needs for the next 25 years as it relates to the potential use of alternatives of incarceration and community based programs.
