Community Garden Project
Working with the WSU Spokane County Extension Agency and Second Harvest Food Bank, the Geiger Community Garden Project was expanded by three gardens this year, for a total of 12. This initiative gives offenders a sense of pride as they raise vegetables that are graciously donated to local charities and the needy.
Partnership with the Lands Council to provide hands-on training to offenders and education of current environmental matters and employable skills. This program is an opportunity to directly and positively impact local, degraded watersheds such as Hangman Creek, Deep Creek, and Coulee Creek.
