After you have received confirmation that you have gained access to the HSIN site you will need to go and create your username, password and profile. Below will be some tips to help you through that process, but first is getting to the HSIN login page.
8-20 characters in length
At least 2 alphabetic characters
At least 1 uppercase letter
At least 1 lowercase letter
At least 1 number
At least 1 special character
Must Not Contain
The character: ~
All or part of your username
Any English dictionary word
One of the 8 previous passwords
Logins also require two-factor authentication, so as part of your registration you will provide an email address and phone number that can receive text messages. After you enter your username and password you will then be prompted to select how you want to receive your special authentication code; email, text message or phone call and enter that before you are logged in.
Passwords are required to be changed every 90 days; you will receive an email notification when it is time to go in and change your password with a link to follow.
If you get locked out of your account (3 failed attempts at entering your password), you will need to contact the HSIN helpdesk to have them unlock it for you. They can be reached at 1-866-430-0162. For other questions you can email them.
These are the basics of getting set up in HSIN, for more detailed information on the registration and account creation process there is a document linked below.
